Teamed up with my brother to cut some old dead maple trees that the wood peckers were hammering on. Enjoyable work making big rounds with our dolmar 7900 and husky 357xp for his OWB. Enjoy this site and happy to contribute to the forum!
Welcome OAKley Dokley When it comes to firewood, all here are both teachers and students. It is fun learning from each other on a wide variety of topics.
I'll get some more pics after the rounds make it to the splitter. We spent a long time grinding the stumps. This stump was 48" at its widest. Spent the weekend cutting the 25ft remnants down that were already topped out before stump grinding.
Welcome to the FHC OAKley Dokley Great to have you join us. Nothing better than making firewood with family and friends. Some nice looking stuff you cut.
Good job working with your brother, to get a big job done. Welcome to the club. Lots of great folks here sharing knowledge and humor.
Welcome to the forum OAKley Dokley. Great that brothers can work together. Are you on the 3 year plan?
Welcome OAKley Dokley . Looks like you had a lot of fun. Sure wish my brother was close enough to do stuff with!
Yeah we get a lot done when we team up. I'm trying to get him to join FHC. This is my brothers wood but he's only on a year to year plan. I'm trying to get him to get onboard to make some cones so he has some seasoned wood.
Thanks wolverine. A ported 357 sounds sweet. My dad and brother gave me the legendary 346xp for Xmas one year and that is my favorite wood destroyer!

The position I am in right now really speaks for the 3 year plan. Even a 2 year if that is all one can store. In my case, I was not able to cut any wood this winter due to a physical problem and still awaiting some needed surgery. We had to cancel our annual get-together where the guys come and when they are gone we have a lot more wood. Still, we are in good shape with our wood supply without asking for help or worse, buying wood. We'll just continue taking from the wood that is already stacked and has been for quite some time.
