Just a few pictures from the show. Okay, maybe more than a few. lol

    Allis Chalmers WC.JPG

One of the tractors I spent many hours on. We were amazed at the time. 45 hp.

There were row after row of old tractors. This year's highlight were Oliver and Hart Parr.

Can't read in picture but here are 2 Massey Harris.

Too bad they had to place the porta potties where they did. Mid Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association. Soon will be 50 years for this show.
    IMG_0560.JPG John Deere A.JPG

The above ia an A and below is the H. We had both and the H is the first tractor I ever drove. Later I drove the A (our big tractor at the time) and an Allis Chalmers WD then later another Allis Chalmers but a WD45.

    Hope you enjoyed this.

I think there were a few there. I could not stay too long so many tractors I did not get pictures of. I could have hitched a ride as there were many trailers with seating pulled by old tractors but I chose to stay on my feet and get closer to some.

I'd like to get the date for next year on my calendar. Looks like it would be worth the drive. It's not on their website yet.

What’s the difference between the “A” and “H” Deere models?

Many an hour was spent on our old M & H. I'm not sure it is why but thinking on it I've never owned a red vehicle, not that I was turned off by the tractors but boy did I see a lot of red growing up.

Although this tractor is painted red, I was always told it was actually a Deere... can anyone set the record straight?
This was my dad working on the driveway of my childhood home, circa 1970...

    I’ll go with a JD A or B. Definitely a Deere though

Really good old tractor show... lotta hardware. Thanks for taking all the pics Dennis Backwoods Savage ...:tractor:

We had one of those old grinding wheels at the farm... like the one on the left. As a kid, I used it every once in a while. I remember the wheel being in perfect round shape, so it did a decent job.

That one wheel in the picture was in sad shape. I wonder what the story on it?

Yes, seeing the older equipment brings back memories. I also liked the old corn sheller which I used daily many moons ago. And the scales. I wanted to see the sawmill in operation but it didn't appear they were going to fire it up and no announcement if they were just delayed so I wandered away. Same with the handle shop. I remember going to the place where a farmer made all sorts of handles. His grandchildren donated the shop to this place.

It really is a big thing every year and they also do many things like bringing in schools and showing how things are done. They also donate to local things and even give scholarships. It is amazing too how many they draw in every summer.

"they also do many things like bringing in schools and showing how things are done" ... really good thing they are doing here... kids will forever need to be shown what came before them, so they can develop a healthy perspective on life's challenges.
