In the last couple days I have purchased a crap load of tools but non more proud of than these swivel sockets. Kobalt metric and standard. When I was looking at my tool collection it dawned on me I have a LOT of tools.... I'm pretty sure the proper name for this is Tool Hoarding Syndrome ( THS ) :emb: My all time favorite tools are the complete set of flex head ratchets which I blame on AC because I used his and it was all down hill from there... What is your favorite and do you have THS?

O ya and my ratcheting combo wrenches.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do go on some binges! And there are impulse buys too. Recently I bought this welder from a guy... Man, I'm still looking forward to working with that once life slows down a bit.

Do you have bars on the windows and a door that can't be kicked open? you know those tools are darn attractive to those who don't want to pay. I hope you have some chest of drawers like Mike from Maine set up. I couldn't begin to find anything without those chest. I can't tell you the amount of tools I have that haven't been used, or only used once or twice. My new kick is the new Lithium battery tools. Light and hold a charge, and easy to recharge.

I am glad someone is organized. I have gone out and repurchased tools only because I couldn't locate the ones I knew I had, but couldn't remember where I put them, and the project I was working on need them then.

I really only buy them as I need them but over the last 15 years I have collected a lot. Tools are a necessity to someone like me... I can do most things that need fixed around the house and dont like to pay anybody. If I cant find it I go nuts and turn everything inside out looking for it I dont buy twice unless I have too. It makes me an angry german lol.

There are few things more satisfying than doing the job with the right tool.

Never pass up a perfectly good opportunity to buy a new tool.

I still haven't figured out where to look for the one tool I need when assembling something too. I'd always set the distructions off to the side (no way I was gonna actually look at them:whistle:) and, after 15-20 minutes thrashing around for that one tool… it was ALWAYS under the paperwork. Duh…

As for having everything in labeled chest drawers… what's that like… ? In theory, it sounds like a good idea… :emb:

Trust me by nature I require a mess... By forced nature it ain't gonna happen anymore. There is literally nothing worse than being in the middle of a big project and not finding what you need.

I am not an appliance repair man, but I am a stubborn old goat. I spent two weeks trying to fix my washing machine. I joint a couple repair forum and picked their brains. Well, you know what, someone knew exactly what was wrong. I had the top and two sides off, but it is now fixed. I did another fix on it last year and save about $250. I am not fast. No one would want to pay a hourly wage for my efforts, but the job gets done, and usually done right.
