Scored a great deal on the best matches ever made......the old-school" strike anywhere" Ohio Blue Tips, in the original packaging. This is the OLDER series from the 50s, sealed and unused.

These were, in my opinion, by long and far the best match ever produced. The modern made "strike anywhere" matches don't even compare! 750 matches should last me a very long time!!

And I only paid 10 bucks for them!!

They were in ebay. There is a similar unopened pack like these, but they are dated 1970, and they're asking 84 bucks!!!

Here is the auction I won. It's the deal of the month for me!!!

Amen to that buddy. I'll actually enjoy striking up these babies!! I'm just hoping they've been properly stored, by the looks of the wrapper they appear to have been stored in a dry place...

    Now just don't open them!

We used to light them by throwing them at the pavement at just the right angle.
Another story about "friction tip-strike anywhere" matches still makes me laugh so here goes!

As kids, we always had a need to carry a bundle of those matches around in our pants pockets. Never knew when someone had firecrackers, cherry bombs, m-80s silver salutes, right?
My brother had a few in his pocket this particular evening. Some girls stopped over and asked if we would like to take their horses for a ride. You bet! As my brother dismounted, he slid his pants leg down the leather of the stirrup holder and all those matches inside of his pocket ignited! Yep, dropped trousers right there in front of all and saved himself from getting a burn! The jeans didn't make it.

I actually bought two unopened 3-packs, and two other full boxes. I'll keep one of the 3-packs as a collectible and I'll be using the others!!

I'll have around 2,000 of these things by this time next week!!
