Brought in a couple of small loads of barkless oak. Was nice spending time with my daughter. Filled wood box for weekend. It's nice having several seasons worth of good dry wood.
I was just thinking the same thing....having started splitting wood in earnest exactly 1 year ago I'm finally going to be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor of love for the past 12 months! Nice spending time with your daughter. My middle daughter helped me sift the rocks and tree roots out of soil I dug up for the raised garden bed.
It was my daughter’s 12th birthday today and I was having fun telling her I was getting her an axe for her birthday. I actually got her a GoPro but I’m sure she was nervous about the axe. I also got 4 chains delivered today from Amazon and the look on her face when she opened that package was priceless. It’s awesome that your daughter enjoys helping you with firewood.
That wood looks nicely seasoned! Read the thread title and thought it was going to be about Toyota's from the 1980's.....
Some great looking wood there, It's a proud moment to have the kids working with you. And they learn how the work translates into their heat. Something most kids don't correlate today.
Yes, it really is nice having the kids working with you; wife too. But fear not, too soon they will be out on their own...
