Just curious if anyone has any appreciable good deal purchases by doing out or end of season buying? Do any stores really do this anymore or not? Do you get better private deals out of season?:makeitrain":emptywallet:

Quite often even if they don't put things on sale, at the end of the season or when they begin to put displays for the next big thing, like perhaps Christmas things or something similar, if you can get a manager, a simple offer to buy an end of season item gets a good sale. It is better for them not having to keep the inventory. I'm told Home Depot is a good place to do this. Or even like the time I went into a HD and they just got a load of new generators. Put them on sale right away. But I got a better deal with one of last year's models. Don't remember the total off but it was good. Same generator basically; just last year's mode. And recently I sold that one after using it for many years.

That is how I saved $$$$$$$ on both of my wood stoves from HomeDepot.

There is even a "end of the year" sale at car dealerships. Well, thats what we're told anyway!

Mama Bear and I are flirting with looking to upgrade campers. We are noticing people putting ads out because they either have a new one on the way or dealerships saying end of season sale. We didn't really price things this summer but after noticing this are wondering if prices are down a bit going into winter or is it just the standard thing to say this slow time of year to try to drum up a sale and blow sunshine up my arse?:fart:

This time of year is a buyers market. A lot of people and dealers don't want or don't have a place to store them, so best offers often bring bargains.

The last time we bought a motor home (new) we got it in March. Sort of the start of the season. We had doubted we'd get a good deal but we were really shopping and looking to buy late in fall to get best price. We finally found one we really liked so just for kicks I threw out a really low price that I'd be willing to pay. It took a while but they did come around and accepted it. Sometimes it pays to lowball.

Lowe's is having a clearance sale with all the stuff in a certain section, I was told there were some great deals early on but when we checked it out the sale had been going so I didn't see anything that we needed.
