After calling the local ope stores, it looks like saw chain now costs as much as a throw-away saw at a box store. Has anyone had good results from any of these chains? Youtube reviews are worse than useless.

Nope , and no interest in even trying one.
I'll stick with the Stihl RS chain.

I’ve tried some of them. They cut good for awhile but will be stretched beyond limits after a couple of days cutting. I’ve gone back to name brand chains. I got a batch of them on Amazon. 6 chains for $66. One good quality chain would have out lasted the whole bunch.

I bought a 100’ spool of 3/8” 50 ga. And 100’ spool of .325 50 ga. Holzfforma chain about 2 years ago. No complaints at all with it. Doesn’t stretch any more than stihl or Oregon and holds a good edge. I think the cutters may be a bit harder than Stihl. Like I said, no complaints with the quality and about 1/3 of the price.

Have never tried any of them. No desire to do so. If one of them actually produces a competitive product, the market will respond accordingly.
