so i have now burned through several bags of the okie golds. i wanted to post a write up as there has been a bad experience by one member, which is unfortunate and had me scared. I have an oak'd harman XXV as my stove. I have been burning at night all week with one cold day, so i can comment on how they are burning but not so much on their heat output. the pellets size is good, not all small, not too long, pretty much just right and consitent. I am pleased with the length, the AWF softwoods i had last year were a little short for my liking. They have a pleasent smell. They have minimal if any fines (likely due to them being shipped via rail and then having fines sifted out in MA at the bagging plant). This is a major improvement over the AWF softwoods from last year. they had a good amount of fines, which i think led to them sticking to my hopper. The pellets burn clean. I have had no clinkers, normal ash buildup on the lip of the firepot for high end pellets. The stove is staying clean even though it is cycling high to low and on to off as it isn't that cold out. Glass is getting dirty the same as other high end pellets. overall ash quantity is what I expected from the pellets. Assuming i don't see much variation from the current results and they put out the anticipated heat in the dead of winter i would buy them again. i am really pleased with the fines and quality of the product. I have to compliment doug on his supply chain, the bulk shipping, vacuuming of fines, repelletizing the fines and shipping via truck only short distances has lead to a superior product when it comes to size, fines, and consistencies when compared to other softwoods I have burned (AWF softwoods, LaCretes, and spruce pointes) . The bags are also qualitty. I ripped 0 bags transporting 6 tons from the driveway to the basement, which involved 3 transfers (pallet to wheel barrow, wheel barrel to dolly, dolly to pallet). All in all a high end pellet which I would buy again.
