I lugge the fianl 1.2 tons into the basement today. The first 1.2 tons i was ok with. Spruce pointe bags are a bit thin, but not to the point that i ripped any. But the second pallet the bagging sucked. I saw tape on at least two bags, this was from the factory. Pallets were wrapped and had no damage. But many bags had small hole (along the seams). They were many loose pellets (say 10 per layer and fines). Then there were the two bags that had tape on them. Not impressed at all. I mean chit happens but dont sell the chit.
Have you tried to contact them or the dealer you purchased from? I would at least try!! Squeaky wheel, Gets the grease!
I wouldnt bother the dealer he didnt frick it up, wouldnt want to take away from him. I did email vanderwall.
Let us know if you hear back from Vanderwall. Would be very interested to see their response to a complaint like this, and how willing they are to make up for it.
I would let the dealer know...He needs to know what he's selling and should have a much better chance of resolving the problem with the manufacturer than you will as the consumer!!
My guess is they got damaged enroute and the reload (probably came from just over the Quebec border) did the best they could to fix the problem...thus the tape. I doubt very much the mill would let something like that get shipped. Check with your dealer, who can say something to his wholesaler and you might end up with a couple of replacement bags...
