    We had a job with two trees today and one was a HUGE, nasty ol' crooked white pine, close to 90' tall and leaning over a very expensive swimming pool.....had to go clear to the top and piece the double top out, we did the speed-line teqnique (zip line) on all the limbs and tops and WOW...did that work slick!! The pic of me in the tree was taken after I took almost 25 feet of tops out.....

    Look at the goofy hood ornament at the top of the tree....my wife DOES NOT like to see pics of me nearly 80' off the ground.... this was after I took the tops out...

    This was after the tree fell, this section was 40 foot up, over 2' diameter at this location. Damm white pine snaps like a toothpick!!

    All bucked up into billets. I saved two 4' logs to mill into nice wide boards for a project...

    Awesome job but I wouldn't expect any less coming from you! At the end of the day the tree is down and you are safe so great job man!

    Gonna make some chainsaw-milled boards for inside this antique pine armoire-turned-hutch that I bought for my wife at a yard sale. It's hand-made and at least 100yrs old. Needs some shelves for her knick-knacks....


    I want complete boards.....this log fits the bill. It's almost 36" diameter.

    Now that's one tree that'll deliver such wide boards!
    How will you dry them for this project? And keep 'em flat? That's awful wide for a white pine slab, right?
    Either way, I like that armoire and its age, the additional shelves will really make it a knock out piece!
    Can't wait to see processing, and install pics! Hint hint:D

    I plan on milling them and screwing them down inside the armoire and the dry aire in the house from the woodstoves will help,dry them out. Then maybe by spring they'll be ready for me to stain and seal them....I'll do a thread on project.

    I'm impressed with that job. I don't know how you get the nerve to climb that high.
    Any idea if the pool was put in when that tree was standing there? So many times things get build, then they decide what is around it are bad neighbors.
    We have a few trees that were here when the house was built that were "harmless" at the time, but now are gigantic. Any of those that could fall on the house have been removed. I do have some over the utility wires that I am keeping a close eye on.
