It's up to us to burn cleaner, to keep the gov't. from getting involved any more than they are already, with burn bans and the like. They mentioned that people in that area are getting ahead on their wood supplies, and burning drier wood now. The area where I live could benefit from an educational program, I'm sure. Heck, I didn't get up to speed until I saw Dennis preaching "dry-wood religion" in the forums.
I'd like to see how the precipitator approach works out, and there are probably longer-term results available from areas that have been using it longer, like in Europe.
Seems like more cleaning would be involved, to maintain whatever the particulates are captured on..

Dry wood is half the distance but it’s the way to go. The rest is staying up to date on particulate reducing devices and stoves. Reducing particles is like reaching total zero. You can get close but not all the way there.

So does it re-gen like some tractors or does it swept out with a chimney cleaning?

Sounds like the electrical charge put onto the particulates causes them to "stick to the side of the stack."
