Nice work. Even though splitting vertical can bust them in half, man handling them can take alot outta you. Noodleing them can make things easier. Nice pic!

I love to noodle... The noodles make a great weed killer. Wherever I lay chips/noodles, I have a nice clean work area after a week or so.

I dislike noodling because I have to clean it up. Too much mess.

I noodled some maple a couple years ago to get it out of a back yard that was too tight to get anything to it. Made a mess but got the wood out. Nobody wanted it cause they couldnt figure out how to move it without hurting themselves. LOL :saw:

Paul, put a tarp down first. Then you can make a simple stand to roll the round on. Take a 116" length of 2x6 & cut it in half lengthwise at a 45° angle. Then cut 2 - 18 to 20" long pieces of 2x4 with 45° angles on the ends so while laying flat they act like a ramp. Then screw the cut lengths of 2x6 across the 2x4's to make a square with short side ramps. The rounds will roll up fairly easy & the gap between the 2x6 pieces make a cradle to hold the round in place. The round noodle stand keeps the bar out of the dirt & the saw off the ground to decrease the incidence of clogging up the clutch cover from noodles. (You could have the 2x4's on edge but it further you have to roll the round.)

The tarp makes the noodles easy to pick up & keeps them clean. I like to use the tarp to roll the noodles to the other end of the tarp to get them out of the way when they start to pile up. Much simpler than kicking/brushing them out of the way as they build up.

I love to noodle the big rounds......and as an added bonus, let those noodles dry in the sun and box them up. That stuff makes excellent fire starter material, and as an added bonus makes for great packing material to use for packing boxes to ship items.....

Great for mulch around plants (except Black Walnut which I only use to walk on),keeping weeds down & nice on your feet.Have given sister a 1/2 pickup load since last December.Use it around processing area where grass wont grow in the dense shade, much better than having mud.
