Out running errands this morning I passed this weeping cherry yard tree recently cut and left at the curb for the taking. Not much, but not having a saw with me it worked out. I’ve only gotten this variety once before, as usually it’s the wild black cherry I come across.
Nice. I've had similar 8' straight weeping cherry logs (twice). I offered them to wood turners online. Guy drove 2 hrs to pick the wood up. And two hrs back. More enjoyment per lbs of wood this way, than if I burnt it, was my philosophy.
Good deal IME for firewood it's kind of unremarkable. Doesn't put out much heat or aromatic smell like black cherry does, but it burns better than snowballs as the saying goes.
