When a friend had 8 big ones surrounding his house. Got a group of friend to pitch in and took load of round, load of uglies I’ll burn when mild, and another pickup load. Got em all safely down, and have maybe 10 cords left there. Have splitter staged and tarped to make this a remote work site for a while. 5A1BBFEC-EA62-45C6-B773-6A0C129B4EDF.jpeg 50598250-C144-4BEF-8D51-6A83E51377AE.jpeg EC7498EB-A226-4952-94B0-C30160579E0F.jpeg 1C2F4EBF-A400-45B0-9B90-7F279209DDB4.jpeg 9D7F4583-0AD1-4997-AF20-1691618B936A.jpeg D8AF0F07-6CE8-435F-B4A1-2175EC0F5ADE.jpeg D50A3AE6-4BF1-40B5-AC0F-B9DCEDFF664E.jpeg

Nice score Greg . Looks like you have more ash than you know what to do with. Should be a breeze with the splitters. How many do you run at the SSing party

Yep! Firewood is all about better heat and saving some $.
Get what’s close quick and easy first. Fill in your between time with the harder to get stuff.

Also - get the wood with the shorter time frame. It just might be gone when you get around to it.

I used to have two. My main one is a Timberwolf which I love and still have, the other was a white outdoor 33 ton which I gave to my son who now has his own home and heats with wood. :)

But for the big day, I now split ona nd off so that 50-60% of the pile is ready to move to lean to right away. So five wheel barrows can go non stop. 2 back and forth from TW and the other 3 just back and forth from pile.

It would be cool to watch a time lapse video of the entire production run.

So far as of today, everything cut, have helped him sell 4 cords from site, 1.5 cord rounds to my place, 1 cord uglies, 1.5 cord to helpers, have 2 cords left of a little gamey stuff and some uglies to wrap up. This pic is of one of the two cord deliveries 3D3D8FAD-B44A-47D6-BE97-467D02D457E4.jpeg

I once had firewood delivered like that. One year stayed in the driveway the same way it was delivered too. Tried to keep a tarp over it to keep the snow off. Hey, it worked good enough.
