Vintage McCulloch SP125C Chainsaw With Original 36" Bar & Chain Own Owner | eBay

My contact in Nor Cal told me Saturday about finding this at a local garage sale ( !) a day or so before - Described it as all original extremely clean 1 owner saw, with very low hours.Said ''he figured I wasn't interested since I already had that one favorite that I'd restored a few years back, but wanted to post a pic on my FB page before listing it."

Listed it just over 12 hours ago, already its up to $488 with 6 days to go...:dex:

Even has that factory sticker on the very rare intact magnesium muffler cover.I've NEVER seen one with a sticker, they'd burn off within a couple tanks worth of running time + 95% of the saws you see have that muffler cover missing cause its kinda fragile & gets damaged/destroyed very early in saw's lifespan.

I'm guessing it'll end up at $1000 if not a bit more when auction ends next Sunday evening. You get 2 bidders who really want something & they'll fight it out pretty good.:D

Myself,I'm still saving/waiting/watching for a decent 125C with the 101B ultra high performance racing kart engine installed, those aren't easy to find but one will pop up from time to time.

It will be interesting to see how high it will go in the bidding.

I agree but that is a little to much for my pocket book. I am cheap.

I'll revise my earlier guess at final bid. After just 20 hours in,high bidder is now $837 & change..... I'll say $1500 closing bid isn't too far off.

That's in my neighborhood, about 40 miles from home. Just looked at that ad, $858 with 5 days to go!

I'm sure the saw is legit but if he pulled the muffler cover and got a pic the bidding would go up immediately.

Even if he gave a compression reading that would help a lot.

That's the only thing that concerns me. It's beautiful but it's not immaculate. To not pull the muffler cover is just a bit fishy.

He could be worried about maybe a screw being stripped or cross threaded in the muffler. Rare and probably not the case but you would hate to have to deal with that one something your about to flip.

I do wonder why, there is no compression test ,if there isn't one. I didn't read all the write up so I will just take anothers word there is not one. A spark plug is way less likely to have an issue in my opinion than any other fastner.

Bidding hasn't moved on this in some time now. Be curious to watch the last hour.

But $650 in 1976 had the buying power of about $2750 in today's money. Makes a new MS880 look like a bargain.
