Can't really "like" this, as we're going to get hammered with this system as well starting Tuesday
They're talking about a foot or so

Talking about the possibility of severe weather late Tuesday into Wednesday. Calling for windy conditions to continue.

Being in the 12"-18" prediction since I live in Carrington, I sure hope it doesn't slide just a little east. 25 years ago we had an April blizzard that still is talked about to this day that is really reminiscent of how this one is blowing in. The storm and after effects shut the state down for a week and a half as we cleaned out. It started with rain, iced everything up, then dumped tons of snow. Mom and dad were out of power for 10 days. Really feel bad for all the people calving right now.

We are getting hit now. You are right about calving. A friend has about 400 on the ground, but their still coming. No sleep for any crew for a few days.

No snow yet but it looks ominous outside Screenshot_20220412-070514_Facebook~2.jpg . New forecast map has moved me into the extreme impact area.

I hope you have plenty of wood inside, a couple of snow shovels & the snow blower gassed up.

I am sure you are prepared, most of the native folks up there usually are.

That is one that I really can toot our horn about, people here usually are fairly well stocked up most of the time and especially in winter. You are right about the native vs import residents, when you hear about someone went out for food, got stuck, didn't have a coat and was only wearing sandals.....they might be an import. SW part of state is already no travel advised, I'm sitting at work and looked out and can maybe see a 1/4 mile and the wind is howling. Hard to believe it was snow free just a couple hours ago and Mama Bear and I sat in our T-shirts around the fire pit Sunday afternoon.

The difference from 24 hours ago to now. It actually isn't as bad as I was expecting....yet, we will see what morning brings. 20220411_185039.jpg 20220412_160647.jpg

Greenstick Have you been to your camping spot on the water yet? Wondering just how the ice is doing out there.

Most of the state is shut down, no travel advised, interstate and highways closed.....work however has not called off, SMH! Last night we were up to 13 inches and 25 mph wind gusts into upper 30s. Screenshot_20220413-064549_Samsung Internet~2.jpg

Haven't been up yet, campground owner sent pictures last week of 4 foot drifts yet and now this. Probably won't be open til mid may now. He said the lake still had ice on it but the creeks that drain into the lake were running and the lake was coming up.

In the eye of the storm. Snow quit, no wind, and is actually nice out. Came home and shoveled 13 wet sticky heavy inches of snow to try and keep ahead on things. Hillbilly Pro Tip, every few minutes spray your shovel with WD-40, this makes the snow slide effortlessly off of your shovel rather than clinging on. Round 2 is wrapping around us and is to hit around supper time and go through Friday morning. I can hardly contain my excitement, NOT.

Hopefully the backside of the storm is less productive that the first half. Looks like the winds care supposed to pick up though.

A friend that lives about an hour and a half west of me is a deputy sheriff and just messaged me saying that they just closed the county. If you are seen out you will be ticketed and no first response teams will be forced to go out.
