A very nice weather day in the PNW so I headed down the driveway to get a little firewood from the big Alder that snapped off earlier in the Winter.

Cutting the splintered end produced mostly kindling which I decided to salvage as well as the bigger pieces.
I was running an Echo CS-590 Timberwolf saw with a 20” bar. This was just a bit shorter than the diameter of the log.

This chain is overdue for a trip to the grinder as it was making more sawdust rather than chips.

This wood went right to the recently emptied wood shed and if not ready to burn next Winter I will let it cure more as I pull wood out of the other wood shed.

As I approach 70 years of age the hoarding becomes slow going and a decent workout.
