I probably will go that route too, but right now I have steaks off the grill and a bottle of good bourbon.

No need for me to go anywhere with all the drunken idiots driving and the coppers out in full force. I'm staying home and probably won't make it until midnight!!

I never go out on New Years. I'd rather just sit at home with a good drink.

Its been 2-3 years since I could stay awake until midnight, its not that big of a deal to me anymore.I'll have a few drinks, make some phone calls to family & a couple friends, probably be out by 11PM. Am planning to sleep in tomorrow,at least til 7 anyway.

But I'll probably wake up at 5 or 530 even without the alarm & tend the fire, just like any other weekday.

The last time I had that was sharing it with an older brother. He woke up with severe chest pains and had to go to emergency room via ambulance. Thought he was having the big one! Anyway, turned out to be real bad indigestion or something like that but meanwhile they ran test on him and found out he was diabetic! Since then, it is referred to as the night I tried to kill him. After a few years of this kidding around, I told him last week it should be remembered as the night I saved his life!!
