After several years of a fireplace set that was given to me as my family had no use for them, and they were cheap; I finally got a new set. I researched for a while on what I wanted. My previous tools had threaded rod that the tool attached to. They constantly unscrewed. The rivets where coming apart. They were too short for the Ideal Steel. The tongs were looses and could not be fixed.

I found a great place for the tools. However, they did not have a shovel on their website. A phone call put me in touch with the guy who makes the tools and was told he could easily make me one!!!! They even custom painted them all for me!!! Once I ordered, the shipping was as much as the tools. I hemmed and hawed and finally bit the bullet. The guy called me within 30 minutes of my order (in the evening) and let me know that the website calculated my shipping wrong. He then refunded me the difference. What GREAT customer service.
I needed and ash rake that was long enough that I did not get scorched at the door of the IS. I also wanted a good set of tongs for placing logs in the back of the stove. And I need a new shovel.
    Here is the proof:

The end of the rake. The plate is a little on the small side.

After using them I like their durability. The shovel is a little front heavy for the round rod and bends a little. Everything is heavy (the way I like it). The paint is nice but of course anything that goes into the firebox comes out a silver ash color.
