Really seems more like a rack but it’s gonna have a roof. So that makes it a shed, right?
Right at 40 ft long. Plastic pallets on 8” steel pipes. Chain link fence on the backside to help prevent stacks from falling, and deter any easy theft from the street. It will have wooden pallets for ends and dividers. Probably gonna be 6’ in the back and 7’ in the front with a steel roof.
This is as far as I got over the weekend

That’s kinda part of the overall plan. I have room to go probably at least another 40’. Might have to leave a gap to get the mower and water hoses through. I’ll also need more plastic pallets to go that far. But this is probably big enough to hold everything I have that’s needing processing

I was about 18” short on the chain link fence Last weekend. So I got the chain link finished up and 3 pallets up on Friday evening. Got the rest of the pallets up this afternoon.

So are the dividers going to be for keeping seasoned and non seasoned wood separate, or for different species, or both perhaps?

It looks great so far! That should hold about 6 cord, if my math is right. Not bad at all. Good job!

Yep, kinda keep it sorted a bit. Species, whether it was taken dead or alive, etc…. I’m thinking one of the small sections might end up with a barrel of the small limbs that I use to tie the rows together for stability, maybe a lick tub full of splitter shards for kindling, hang my peavy in it and that sort of thing.

Sounds great! I look forward to seeing it finished. I use longer thin limbs to hold together my stacks as well.

I Got access to plenty of pipe, telephone poles also right now. Wood pallets are plentiful around here. Gots plenty of chain link fence available. But plastic pallets for the base are another matter….. I have 2-3 not being used right now and should have 4-5 more freed up come spring

That looks like a great setup. Plenty of sun and wind to dry the wood out.

What length do you cut to? You will be able to stack 2 rows wide on those pallets...maybe they are wider than they look in the pictures? Pretty cool having access to all that pipe!

I try for 18” ( even measuring and marking I don’t always make it) so, yes, 2 rows with a space in between for nuggets and such. Plastic pallets are 42 inches by 48.

Looking good, be nice to see the finished product. Thinking I may evolve to using totes to stack my wood in. Better chance they won't fall over that way.

    Sandhillbilly any stacking yet?
And, have you figured out the cord volume if you're stacking to 6'?
That will be an impressive wall once you're done!!

Just barely, got sum finely split mulberry for smoking wood in it. But I’m thinking about pulling it back out and putting in a shelf for it and put my apricot smoker wood in there to

got the top of the uprights tied together last weekend, shoulda done that before I stretched the chain link across the back and pulled the posts out of plumb. But oh well it’s just a wood shed.
I’ve gotten a few comments about it already, one guy asked, “ do you think it is big enough?”.
My reply = “not even close”
    Saturday should bring noticeable progress
