Found a good deal on a portable winch. I already have one but there were enough extra accessories and rope thrown in the deal to make it a good deal.
They come in handy getting logs moved to a place with easy access for an old man. [IMG]

They actually will pull a pretty good load. Pulling this log I only had three turns of rope on the capstan and didn’t realize adding a fourth turn makes it easier for the person pulling the rope.
Also could add a sheave and double up the pulling power.

Very nice! That'd be awesome for moving logs or putting some pull on trees. I need one of those snatch blocks and caribeners... Was just getting ready to write about my new puller and ask about those...

They make a block that will keep the tension on but I don’t have one. The smaller winch is also set with a devise that holds the tension as well. Would come in handy when working alone.
