Spent the weekend at the Carlisle PA Car show & Swapmeet. Picked up what I think is a 1994 Dolmar 343 Cutoff saw. Seller said it should run but he couldn't keep it running & thought the carb just needed cleaning. He tried to start it and it did fire for a second so I new it had spark. Was missing a few parts but mostly complete and in good shape so negotiated $100.- price and took it home.

Opened it up yesterday and had it running in under an hour. Loving that German made quality! (It actually says made in West-Germany, for those of you that remember those days.) Not liking trying to find parts for a "foreign saw".

It's missing the arbor bolt and pressure plate that hold the blade on and the foot it should stand on under the handlebars. Would like to find a water kit too as I intend to use it with a diamond blade the most for concrete & stone, though I imagine there are lots of generic kits that can be used. I managed to download an IPL for it so I have parts numbers but not finding much available out there on the web. Anyone know of any good sources of Dolmar parts for older machines.

Didn't know until recently they made anything other than Dolmar, find a Dolmar dealer and they can get anything you need. It's a dealer only company. Some aftermarket parts but not tons and not a lot online.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, their merger/buyout by Makita was apparently a bad turn in Dolmar's history. Going to the Dolmar.com site only gets you a list of countries and clicking on USA just brings you to Makita USA website, which is nothing but trying to convince me I need a battery powered cordless everything & not a single mention of Dolmar at all. The service link just gets me a list of big box stores that carry cordless screwguns etc.
Always liked Makita for the electric/cordless tools they made but I really wish they weren't trying to eradicate Dolmar. Kinda wish they hadn't bought them at all.
