These 3 are new acquisitions to my rural redneck firewood operation. All 3 have working hoists & just need some minor mods/repairs.

I have had this one a couple years, I added some sideboards to it for a bit more volume.

Excellent Jim. Should work well if you have a good way to load them.

They're sweet. Will these be loaded with splits and left on until needed?

The plan is to put the splitter behind them then split & pitch. All of them have rear hitches so I can pull the splitter behind them to process & leave the mess somewhere other than at home.

Leave them loaded at least until I have time to stack on some pallets. I don’t think splits would dry well in them without some modifications.

No big deal to pull one out in a field & leave it until I get it loaded.

Now in my perfect firewooding delusional mind the plan would be :

    1. Styrofoam fill the tires for no blowouts or flats.

2, Expanded metal sides & floor with optional bows over the top for tarp for top cover. Maximum air flow drying potential.

    3. Stack them full & let it all dry in the wagon, no pallets or weed eating around the stacks.

It would only take $$$$ & I don’t live in the Nashville area so …

Nice! Handy to be able to split on site, fill and leave if needed. Cant wait to see them full of hedge.

Initial run will be Ash, probably the second run as well.

I don’t currently have any Osage fence rows lined up take out.

We have very little grain farming here in the upstate of SC, especially compared with the Midwest! I presume that the wagon with initial $100 bid will not meet the reserve but will go for much more? Naked running gear would be at least $4-500 here. Like your firewood plan!

The firewood wagon is at $200 right now. I figure it will go around $375

Open running gears are a mystery to me, some go for $75, some $300-$400.

Sometimes you will see the same gears with similar tires & cylinders sell at both ends of the spectrum.
Just depends on who wants them, only takes 2 folks to run the bid.

I saw a wagon like the big one I bought bring $1200, mine was $475.

I figured the last one I got with JD running gear would go for north of $500, I about fell out of my chair when I got it for $375. I added some air to the tires & pulled it the 80 miles home at 50mph & it trailed great.

The Deere running gears usually have 6 bolt hubs, the Stan hoist/Bush Hogs have 5 bolts.

Clearly, I was wrong on this one. It’s at $600 with 3 hrs left on the auction.

Thats kind of what I was thinking, that the bidding was in the early process. We don’t see running gear with cylinders much at all either. :)
