    My chainsaw acquisition disorder kicked in today. I bought a MS170 with a carving bar to try a new hobby. I have a MS461 and MS880 so no funny comments.

    I did find out that Stihl will be releasing a “500” commercial saw soon. You can google it, but it sounds like a nice fit for me. :dex:

    Man! I was so gonna ask if that was your main firewood saw too.:rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol: Those are actually decent little saws for the money.

    Yah, we heard that a new MS500i will be coming in 2019 ....

    Has fuel injection similar to cutoff saws ..

    It is!!!!:dex: Going to drop some 80 ft hickories this weekend with 3o inch trunk!!!! Boy that would be a long day. :rofl: :lol: I love my Stihl saws, but 170 will be a carver only.

    Lots of guys in my area use the ms170 as their fence building saw on the cattle ranch. Very handy for trimming posts and cutting tree limbs for fence stays. A good friend of mine who just had a knee surgery uses a ms170 to cut small diameter firewood. He loves that little saw and it has held up very well.
