Hello , I am new to the site and wanted to say hello and introduce myself , mostly I cut to keep my OWB happy . My saw addiction is made up of a Dolmar 112 , Dolmar 143 ( in need of a P&C ) , Stihl 019t , Stihl 011 , Remington 754 Super , Poulan models 33 and K and a Jonsered 910 ( in need of a piston ) . All of the saws have
been rebuilders from the junk pile . From North Central Indiana .

Welcome to FHC Tdkclydes . Funny you should mention you have an OWB, there have been a few recent threads
on OWB's recently. Interesting EPA topics and local news with issues of wood smoke.
    Glad to have you here

Welcome. Sounds like you enjoy tinkering with saws. Nice collection you've got going there. Obviously you're saw model-blind! I'm really trying to get to that point myself but I haven't been able to pry away from the white and orange ones yet.

    Welcome to FHC! !

Nice collection of saws! Do you heat your DHW as well?

I would love to install a boiler for the hot water. As the years add up, I can see myself moving the fire outside and loading twice a day.

I'm about to find out myself - getting closer to getting mine installed. This nasty weather has us about 2 weeks behind. I'll let you know how mine does.

Hello , I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome ! My OWB was made by a local company and is very close to the original Central Boiler design . I've had mine for about 8 years now and sure enjoy having the wood outside . I never hooked mine up to provide DHW , the nice thing about having it connected to your water heater is if you ever need to be away you can use your water heater to keep your boiler from freezing . Our home has a geo - thermal heat pump ( open loop ) that uses a oversized A coil for summer cooling . I installed two way valves so in the winter all I have to do is switch the valves and run the hot water from the boiler through the coils .To control the temperature in the house I turn the geo's fan switch the constant run and have installed a second thermostat in that feed the turn the fan on and off as needed .

Sounds like a great set up that works very well!

How many cord of wood do you burn a year?

I have to say that I am kind of embarrassed I don't really know for sure how many cords I burn in a season . I do a good deal of my cutting in the winter , but I would guess it to be around 6 - 7 cords .
In reply to Crzybowhntr if 2 is all I buy count me lucky . Before I buy anything else I need to find a piston for my Jred 910 . Then I will start looking for the P&C my Dolmar 143 . Besides I just love the look on my wifes face when UPS delivers another package and I tell hers is chainsaw parts = priceless . I must admit she is very accepting of my saw addiction .
