I agree with Rep. Thomas Massey (R-KY) from the article....

“We believe that a one-size fits all rule on wood heat that comes from Washington D.C., from bureaucrats who have never experienced the warmth of the heat that comes from wood or maybe even the exercise of collecting it themselves, really aren’t qualified to regulate our source of energy, especially when they’re taking away our other forms of energy.”

I disagree with that, but I look forward to the new technology that will be developed because of this.

It's only a matter of time before another company designs something to give Blaze King a run for their money.

I get nervous because I fear the day when woodstoves are banned. I don't like people messing in my backyard is all.

As an owner of motorcycles, firearms, and someone that enjoys off roading, this is just par for the course when it comes to activities I enjoy.

Half the time I think regulations and laws are based on how much fun BAR is having. Too much fun? Gotta make new laws cuz we can't have that bastard walking around all happy and chit.

LOL! I am treading very carefully in what I say here out of respect for the political neutral climate our founders have maintained. I agree with you though. I have a 2002 Suzuki 650SV. Don't ride that sucker. Makes me nervous with all the idiots on the roads around here. I would love to get a 2 stroke dirtbike. Now those are a blast

I totally would have traded you the stove for the SV.

All I can say is try living in NY. Fun has been outlawed, or very close to it. I'd better keep my mouth shut. :zip:

That is like admitting to a multiple homicide. Should be a punishable offense.

I would fear Bloomberg and his soda mandate. LOL! I'm done.

EPA restrictions are a good thing, but let's keep a balanced perspective on it.

Nah...Heritage #2 is just sitting there. Not really increasing or decreasing in value. I could unload it all day long locally for $1500. I have more than that into it with the shipping debacle, but I wouldn't lose that much.

Perhaps they should start looking at tying requirements for efficiency and particulate matter to population densities. This would enable those who live in cities to use wood burning appliances with the knowledge that their particulate matter and efficiencies are not affecting their close neighbors while those who live in rural areas (say on their own 50-100 acres) will not be constrained to restrictions that cause a comparative increased economic burden. The health hazards associated with wood smoke are no different than any other hazard. As the density of the material increases, (usually measured in parts per million) so do the health hazards. A million "Low emission vehicles" stuck in traffic in Los Angeles have a much larger impact on a larger number of people than does a single gas guzzling 1970's street rod driving down a two lane road in northern Maine. The one size fits all method of imposing regulations doesn't work for this industry. Regulations should apply common sense and ALL factors and context into consideration.

I know.. it's political, but both sides of the aisle need to agree on something that is smart and enables us to continue to burn a renewable domestically produced fuel that allows us to be self-reliant.. Not really a rant; just my opinion.

LOL! I can see it now. Don't even think about using some unapproved firestarter either.

I would LOVE to see the guberment tell me I can't burn wood to heat. You would all hear the laughing from where ever you are in the country.

LOL! I agree, but I can see them raising your property taxes for non-compliance. It looks as though we are safe with the existing stoves...for now. :emb:

When unreasonable regulation forced upon the majority becomes unbearable, the pendulum eventually swings the other way. Look at alcohol prohibition. The good thing is that the tide is starting to turn. Look at Phil Robertson.
