New distillery in Central Pa

For anyone coming to Scott and Joe's Central Pa GTG, there's a place to check out near by.
814 Distillery

They bottled batch #001 yesterday. This is the first distilled corn whiskey in Blair county's history.

The three owners got the first 3 bottles, and i got the 4th.

Coming out at 160 proof
(80% alcohol)

Open that lid and take a sniff, they said. It'll be fun, they said.

 

You have a hand in their infrastructure Tim?

 

A little. Tom is my neighbor, same one i cut wood on. I insulated all the steam pipes. Hauled the corn in from Bedford county for them.

 

I can smell the cornflakes from here

 

Exactly my first thoughts as well. Northern Appalachia is still Appalachia. It's a state of mind and a way of life more than just a specific geographical location
