My 55 isn't as clean, but it's cleaner than a lot of them. I also have a Closed port cylinder on the way There is a nice minty 55 Closed port But I have a few "New" saws as well. MS- 441C MS-362C MS-460 (one is gone) And finally my minty 036 Pro
BTW- That is Super Clean!!! I don't know if you plan on doing any "work" to that 55? But if you do? I'd love to run it and possibly let you do the same to mine as well.
That 55 in the trading post is a decent deal. Yours looks pretty nice too. Are you getting a piston with that cylinder too Kenis?
No. Just a cylinder. Had read and was told that the closed port cylinder with the open port piston, runs better than with the CP piston. The airflow is better.
Guessing its generating a little more crankcase pressure/ charge back up into the cylinder. Glad to hear that though, I thought the windowed pistons are a bear to locate...
Heard from 2 people now that it works great. I will have my CP cylinder on it by the GTG. We can go head to head? I only have a Muff Mod on mine?
I am actually going to leave mine stock. I don't know what I am bringing yet, the less I do the faster I can get there. I was thinking the Dolmar 153, the 064, and my go fast 372 . Maybe the XP1020 in lieu of the 153... Almost forgot, I need to round up a bar for my 372!
I have yet to even break my Chinese motor in. I only have a month to run several tanks through it to get it running at optimum performance.
Here's my latest had it a few weeks... Never even tried to start it yet. The seller had it listed at a fair price and 'like new' condition.. When I got there I tested the compression at 120... Seller was surprised so I got it at a price that it doesn't matter if it runs or not.
You had better get movin buddy. We don't want to hear any excuses how your baby just wasn't quite at peak performance yet!
Nice looking saw Carbine! I'm not up on my Huskies and such but it looks real sweet. I checked it out here: http://www.husqvarna.com/za/products/chainsaws/55/ I only own one old Husky, an M-38!
Boog, You gotta get some newer huskies... I have what I consider the ultimate stihl lineup but still reach for the huskies first.
I have plans that I will consider mixing Huskies into Mike. I'm going to be selling several of my saws, then start looking for at least a newer rear handle "arthritic old man's blueberry pruner" (for the future, the 250 CBE I'd bought for that purpose I gave to my sister). Will also be thinking middle and upper/milling duty things too! Sort of like you, will be keeping the 026, 360 Pro, and 440 Mag as backups and getting some other runners!
