Well the guys from Carolina Carports got here first thing this mourning and put up my carport. It was a crew of 2 guys and it took them about an hour and a half. They were well organized and knew what they were doing and worked very efficient. I even had them move it to square out up after the uprights were set and did not complain a bit. Here is a final pic. I will put build pics up in a bit. Some may remember me asking about getting one of these a few months back. Swags said he had one on order for a woodshed. Then the week he got his delivered I ordered mine after a few weeks of not getting by the dealer after making my mind up. Then the installers were delayed a week cause of rain..the following week I was out of town for work so I finally got it installed.
I might have a cord to go into it. Nothing likewhat swags had. I havent cut much in the last 10 months with my son being here now. The shed is to help me cause of that so that iI dont have to move wood all the time..it will always be under cover. And I dont burn much more than 2 cords a year.
It's great that you were finally able to get that done. Looks really good, and I think your boy approves.

It originally was going to go on the opposite side. As there is a privacy fence on the side its on now. I was going to put it on opposite side its on now to block blowing g rain. But thats the side the house is on and my wife wanted to be able to see me if she was looking for me. So I moved it to have a happy wife . But to answer your question Dave it is so that I can put a work bench in the middle up against that wall and not have rain blow in on it. I really dont have a so it to work that does not have rain that can blow in. First load on the truck n trailer going in!! Should be wood for winter16/17!!! 99% of that truck is oak. Truck axle is 1" from the bumpstops
I hope the wind do sent get it either. But the wind normally comes from the side that has the solid wall. That said there is a privacy fence thats 7-8 feet tall 18" s or so from it that should take most of the wind as just past those are some big pecan trees to dispurse the gusts as well. And any wind down the drive should just go through it.
That poor truck looks like its about to croak. Incredible sized load! Regarding the wind, can you drop in some anchors in the ground and secure the legs somehow? Have you got enough wood to burn this winter?
Looks great Clemson. I too was amazed at how quickly the guys worked. They knew exactly what had to be done and in what order. In addition, when getting the frame off the trailer and laying them, none of the guys walked; they ran. It was a real joy to watch them as I was in doubt that anybody worked like that any more. In appreciation we gave them some food and drinks while they worked. Of course it took them a lot longer on ours as it is a bit larger plus 2 overhead doors, one walk-in door and 3 windows. With the wind in the direction you state I doubt you will have any problems. We probably wouldn't have had to but paid a bit extra to have 6 of the anchors being earth anchors. I wanted to make sure it would stay put! That looks like a great start towards filling it. I hope it really works out well for you.
There is 6total 3ft rebar anchors that are driven into the ground to hold it down. For like $75 you could get mobile home corkscrew type anchors but I did not opt for those.
Yea it was warm even at 830 this mourn. I constantly was offering waters. They took 2 bottles each. Tried to give them one for the road, but didnt take it. They knew what needed to be done when. One guy was doing one thing and the other started on the next as he was screwing. SUPER efficient. Said there on the road usually for 3 weeks from family. They load up on sat or sunday for the next week.
Oh and the wood on the truck was all on my property. I drove it 75 feet out of random piles in my asphalt driveway to the shed. Havent stacked it or moved it since deciding on the shed...didnt want to more it 2x.
I'll bet you've imprinted erector sets now in your son's lil mind as he watches them put that up. Better start shopping now Clem... That's what happened to me. My folks bought me the original version of the Erector Set... and all I wanted to do was power it up... ever since.
I had an erector set when little. Pretty cool toy. My nephews have no idea what one is. All they know is Xbox youtube and I-things!!
