Anyone else get a hold of these this year? I think I was duped, I was expecting FSU's and it looks like I got Chow's
I got some last season and even though they say made in CA. I thought they were chows myself. Still burned pretty nice for me though. Liked em and went for more. Poof just GS's were all that was left!!
The FSU's typically were a lot lighter in color and a very small (short) pellet and smelled like a softwood.....these, no so much
I always thought these were FSU's re-bagged......interesting....I mean maybe they are but I've never burned FSU's the even remotely looked like these.
Last year when I asked, I'm pretty sure I was told the Nature's Own are FSUs and since I had such a terrible experience with that first batch of FSUs in the fall, I passed on the Natures Own pellets. Then, since I'm a glutton for punishment, I picked up another small batch of FSUs in the spring and they burned fine. Burning some right now as a matter of fact. I burned some chows recently as well, and I have to tell you Steve those in the picture do look like chows to me as well. Can you tell by the smell? To me, the chows and FSUs have very distinct smells, the chows have that hardwood smell similar to greene teams. Really want to know how these Nature's Own do for you?
Same here, the FSUs I'm burning now are some of the shortest pellets I've ever seen, the whole bag is pretty much 1/4" pellets.
Yes, these don't smell anything like the FSU's I've burned in the past. I'll let you know how these are. They were burning but stove just met the setpoint so it shut down.
Natures Own was an Energex product out of Pa.I always thought they were the Lowes version of Stove Chow.
I've tossed last seasons bags...... If it says PA, then I would expect similar results to the chows. But could of swore it said product of CA??? Steve can you confirm please.
On the back of the bag it says "Made in America" Right above that it says Premier Pellet Corporation Montreal Quebec
That might have goofed me up. Made in America it is, So should be a chow sister from the PA mill. In my experience chows have been on the darker side than the CA mills offerings.
