I'm sure lots of other manufacturers use this system also so anyone with knowledge please chime in. I replaced the air wash gasket this weekend and took off the manifold shield and wire brushed the secondary tubes. I remember reading through the manual last season and reading that there was a manifold gasket, well there is no longer one in mine, must of just deteriorated away. Put it back together and have been running the stove all weekend, seems to be running fine, secondary burn tube is firing pretty good. I'm going to order a gasket and put it in. Question is, what exactly is the purpose of the gasket? Does it absolutely need to be there? Will I notice a big difference? Thanks guys. Picture of gasket in question :
I guess no one knows? I would of thought with all this knowledge I coulda got a few answers, guesses at least. I ordered the new one so I will report back once I get it in, then I will know what it does, makes a difference, etc... Maybe a mod can change the title of the thread to "manifold gasket question". Maybe no ones looking because they don't have that particular stove. Thanks.
Sorry, no help form here. Your thread has been viewed 70 times so maybe someone will chime in later than sooner. Would it be out of the question to call customer service or a dealer??
