Title says it. State your stove, it's specs (hopper size, BTU, top feed/bottom feed, etc), what you love about it and what you wish it had different? Or the stove you wish you had?

    I will start.

Enerzone Eurostar. It's 50,000 BTU unit, with a 70 lb hopper. It's a bottom feed system that has 2 augers (not parallel like Englander. The Enerzone is Perpendicular) .

I love the touch screen control panel, the strives heat exchange system, and it's sexy look :).... Also has the BEST air wash system I have seen. The glass is still almost crystal clear. And is one of the easiest units to clean I have come across.

What I don't like about it? The 3 back baffle panels are a PITA to remove and it. Other than that?

Have a couple others I will post on if this thread takes off.

Last pic is off access panels. One is for the exhaust blower and the other for the chamber under the heat exchange area (exhaust gasses are directed through the entire heat exchange system). Very good design.

    I have a Timberidge 55-TRPEP AKA 25-EP

Rated at 25,100 btu's (I think I squeeze more out of it).....45 lb. hopper capacity (more like 40ish).....top feed auger system

    Pro's
    SECOND TO NONE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Refurbs are gone over by Mike Holton
    Nice looking stove
    Easy to maintain
    Removable ash drawer
    Good parts accessibility
Lots of room for feed and air adjustment
    Tube heat exchangers

    Cons
    some edges are very sharp
Hopper design keeps the pellets, near the end, from sliding all the way down to the auger
Burns pellets only (not a problem for me)
Ash accumulates on bottom of door and falls out when door is opened

Bottom line, I love my stove! I got a great stove at a great price. I'll post more if I think of anything.

#1… 2000 model St. Croix Pepin 35,000 btu (I think)
    Top feeder

    Pros…

    Inexpensive… bought used in '06 for $900.00
Versa-Grate cleans the burn pot without any scraping
    Simple analog controls
Bulletproof… one ignitor replacement only parts failure
Hopper extension holds 80 lbs. + or -
Heats 2200 sq. ft. without any problem
Will melt your face on level #3
    Top Feeder

    Cons…

Ash builds up behind firebox (not a factor if you use the LBT)

    #2… 2006 St. Croix Greenfield multi-fuel 40,000 btu.

    Pros…

    Cheap… $700.00 (used) in 2011
    No failures in two years
    Top feeder

    Cons…

Never could get the stove to get a real clean, consistent burn (I think my recent full clean up will fix that)
No Versa-Grate so I do need to shut it off every two days and clean the pot.
Corn pot seems to be too big… pellet pot seems to be too small.
    Same ash issue.

    #3… Englander 25XXXX (don't really know… or care)

    Pros…

    Cheap to buy… $850.00 delivered in 2011.
Borrowed from my friend Jim… even cheaper!
No repairs or parts needed to date.
Heats very well in my shop.
    Easy on pellets.
    Easy to understand controls.
    Easy to clean.
    Simple design.
Great factory service if ever needed.

    Cons…

    Bottom feeder
    Need to scrape the pot.
No ash pan (no big deal though).

So I have three pellet stoves for less than the cost of one big name new stove…

Fahrenheit F50 furnace. 50,000 BTU, top feeder, 250 pound hopper with extended hopper installed, which I need to put on before I fire it up for the season. I took the extended hopper off when troubleshooting some problems with it after I bought it and never put it back on.

    Pros:
Got it cheap. Picked it up off Craigslist in January 2013 for $1000, with the extended hopper, some venting and some ductwork.
Connects to ductwork. Nice, even heat throughout the house.
Self cleaning burnpot. Set it and forget it, except for filling the hopper.
The factory is only about 40 miles from my house, so if I get into a bind needing parts in the dead of winter I can make a drive to Holland, MI and get what I need.
Great customer service from the factory reps/engineers who designed the unit.
Can burn anything I throw at it as it is a multifuel unit. I have no plans to burn anything but pellets, but if I needed to burn corn, wheat or pits I can.
Ash pan the size of Rhode Island
Nice, even heat throughout the whole house. Whoops, said that already but thats my favorite part.
My oil burner sits unused more than it has since I got bought my house.
Wife is happy because the whole house is warm, and she is more than willing to top off the hopper when I'm out of town for work.

    Cons:
This unit is an older one so it is manual ignition. Not a big deal to me. Once I light it, it stays lit until it gets a full cleaning. The newer units have auto ignition.
Since its manual ignition, it only has high/low for the t-stat. Again, not a big deal as I only run it when it is below 35 outside. I still haven't hooked up the thermostat to it. I should do that this weekend. I've had the stuff to do it since last January.
Convection blower could stand to be a bit larger. I believe it is 800 CFM. After I adjust the dampers in the ductwork it works out OK.
When the self clean cycle starts, it cranks the heat setting to max for about 15 minutes, which can make the house warm up a bit higher than desired.
Makes a good bit of noise when the self clean cycle starts. My daughter named it the 'basement monster'.
Like most pellet appliances, it has some tricky areas to get to when doing a full cleaning. I bought some bottle brushes and figured out how to make my arm bend in ways I didn't know possible when doing a cleaning.

All that being said, I love the thing. Wish I'd got a pellet furnace years ago.

I also have a USSC 6041 insert upstairs in the living room. Same specs as what Schoondog mentioned above with his 6039, but mine has auto ignition. I may sell that unit one of these days as it sits mostly unused since I got the furnace. I light that one off when I shut the furnace down for a cleaning, or if its not cold enough outside for the furnace and I don't feel like feeding the wood eater.

We used to have a couple pet rabbits, and I do admit more than once that I considered dropping some nuggets in the hopper. I never brought myself to try it though. :)

I also have a Fahrenheit Endurance 50F as 343amc does.

    50,000 BTU
    800 CFM convection blower
The only couple differences between mine and his is, is mine has auto ignition, digital LCD control panel, burn pot design is a little different, and I added a few other things from there latest model.

I added the latest sail switch (hinge on the side, rather than the top, so it opens 100% of the way now. And I also added the high flow exhaust manifold. I had to buy them both from Fahrenheit, but they made a Tremendous difference in the burn.

As he noted above, its a true multi fuel unit that has an awesome self cleaning system.

The 2 downfalls.. It could stand to have a little larger distribution blower and when it self cleans, it can overheat the house. Unless temps are in the 20's or lower. Then its not to bad.

It is a true monster and having even heat throughout is pretty nice too :)

Basement is under a full remodel. Moving the bar room/man cave out from the back of the basement, to the other side (took down a wall to make it a pretty large room). Still painting and such.... Thats another thread at a later date..

more than enough to heat my 1400 sq ft ranch

Englander 10-cpm Multi Fuel. Not sure of BTU's, but rated for 2200 sq ft. Exhaust is 3" to 4", then into 8" wood stove pipe straight through the roof. 50 lb hopper, and stirrer in the burn pot.

She'll burn pellets, corn, & cherry pits......but she's also burned grass, wood/grass, and coffee pellets without even blinking. 10-CPM-1.jpg clean 12:10:11.jpg
