Howdy Our local FW prices are about $35-50 for a rick and I have seen it as much as $75 for Premium (?ya got me,, best as I can see is they say it has no bark). And yep we have the same created confusion about what a rick is. I purchase weight wood for $20 -25 per ton, but one has to have a way to unload a log truck.
I am kind of in your neck of the woods and have noticed the same. Most want to sell it by the rick instead of the cord. Some I have spoken to seem a bit confused when I ask about the cord price instead of rick. About 60-$75 seems to be the average rick price around here. Where about have you found it for $35-50??
I'm from the east and I cannot say I have ever seen A rick being advertised out this way. Usually by the cord only. My question is what is a ricks definition and what measurement does it use? And if anyone knows, how does a ricks price compare to a cord?
Local sales network (lsn.com) Fentress Co. area and locals that sell . Were near Jamestown Tn. (35mi N of Crossville) so eggs are cheaper in the country ($2.0 dz.)
I've set my price list up as: By the cord price. 4' X 8' X different length 12" - 24" (2" increments). And the volume rate is the same volume rate as "By the cord". As far as how does a rick price compare to cord. I'd just ask the length (@4'x8') and do the volume math compared to the cubic foot rate for a cord.
