So I was saving up to buy a leaf blower, but then CAD kicked in... :loco: :saw: DexterDay was getting rid of a Husqy 385XP, and I had to have it...:D

So I spent the weekend raking leaves... :headbang: Got er done - lost count around 10 trailer loads, and that's only from the spots where raking to the edge of the woods was just too far.

    IMG_1644.JPG IMG_1646.JPG IMG_1645.JPG

Filled up a low spot pretty good near where the garden will eventually be.
    IMG_1649.JPG

Delivery man came today, and made it all worthwhile!!! :hair: :ups: :saw::saw::D

    IMG_1655.JPG

Ordered a couple chains from Baileys, by way of Amazon, but didn't realize the "free shipping" option was "over land by camel". They should be here by Thursday.. :headbang:

So this is my two saw (so far :loco: ) plan. Echo CS400 18" - "The Worker"; Husqvarna 385XP 28", muffler mod by Dex - "Da Bawse". :saw::saw:

sweet! how's that little echo run? I gotta get a smaller saw or bigger trees. My old 044 is getting too heavy jerking it around through limbs and 10" logs!

I think it's been great - it's cut a whole lot of wood for me, never gave me a single problem. It's light enough I can use it all day no sweat - and I have.

Ahh - see - I was supposed to buy a leaf blower see - to take care of all those leaves. So the leaves still needed to be dealt with, and the saw wasn't going to be much help. Course I could always cut down the offending trees... :loco: :saw::saw::D

Glad you like it. Make sure to tune to your elevation.

BTW - NICE pics ;) Looks even better in your pics than the ones I had posted

Keep me updated on she runs. It was a good running 80 cc saw before the muffler mod. Should scream from you now. Also making that Echo seem.much smaller than it really is.

Oh and I hope it was packed good enough for you.. ;) That box was a little big. But it wasn't getting damaged!

I also hope you are able to use all the extras sent. I try to always give more than what the buyer pays for.

My little Echo has cut over 300 cord so far and just keeps ticking right along. Strong little saw.

Yeah I meant to comment on the packing job... I shoulda took a picture, but I was too excited to tear it all open! :hair: Looked like one of the finest packing jobs I've ever seen - either that, or the wife must've been on your case about taking out the recycling!! :dex: Think I filled my bin about halfway with all that bubble wrap, and the extra boxes you used as spacers!!!

So? Have you ran it yet? ;)

She was a runner here. Runs side by side with a Solo 681.

You made a good choice there.I'd rather be around a big saw all day than hear a leaf blower 5 minutes...;)

One of the most obnoxious sounds on God's green earth,I cant stand 'em personally. If I had every hand & power tool I'd ever want,I would pass on that.I'm old school, more of a push broom/house broom/aluminum scoop shovel kinda guy.

No... :( I hope to by the weekend. Nursing a bit of "tennis elbow" in my left elbow after all that raking, plus my 28" chains haven't arrived yet... :headbang:

Plus I guess I'm a little bit nervous about tuning the carb. I don't have a tach, and I'm not quite sure what to "listen for" to do it "by ear".

I have selected my first target though! Neighbor just down the street has had the trunk of a pretty big norway maple sitting in their yard since this summer, and nobody's come along with a big enough saw to deal with it.... Until now!! :saw::saw:

Tune it in wood. Watch some videos on YouTube.

Your gonna hear it "burble" or "four stroke" at wide open throttle. But when cutting in wood? That burble should go away and the sound will "clean up".

Lots of good videos out there. Watch and listen close
