Well, I have not posted in a while due to some issues in my life, but hopefully things will get better from here on. I had 42 acres of my farm select cut last winter, as part of my contract, loggers had to leave me with a large supply of firewood on the landing. This is what it looks like on the landing, with 4 or five other smaller piles scattered around property. I think I will have plenty for next few years, and even enough to sale a little to help pay for new toys. Lol... Tell me what you think......
That's a nice pile of logs. Did you hire a forester? I had one out to walk the property. I signed a contract and he hasn't been back since. Nothing can happen until he marks the trees. It's been very frustrating.
Yikes, looks like a 20+ year plan for me. There should be no "devil's workshop" in your immediate future! (is this the Solomon emoticon? )
Yep, kinda of sorta. I have a couple buddies that are foresters and they went through with me. We marked trees and selected sizes, call it a Wildlife cutting.
You are definitely going to need a bigger saw than the ms241cm. Better send it to me for safe keeping. Could get crushed in that pile or something; -)
Thanks guys, yep I figure it will keep me busy for awhile. Lol..... just wish it would cool off some here!!!!!
Those piles will take a few years to cut up! Unless you're like Ashwatcher and have time for firewood and golf And nothing else! How soon will you be able to make the biggest dent in all that? Them log lengths could start turning sour by next year- in no way an immediate issue, but you probably don't want any eventual punkiness, right? So come on, what's your plan of attack? Tell! Tell!
