Nice looking splits you got there. How long did it take you to do that all? That's a whole lot of heat there

Awesome job! I love the smell of red oak too - some don't. That'll be some great burning wood! Cheers!

Stacked under trees but at the edge of a clearing so they do get some sun and take the brunt of the predominate SW wind.

3 cord. 1 more than I thought there would be.

Many used to post about bad smelling red oak on another forum but I have not seem much of that here. Interesting.

    Nice work Bill.

I like the smell of it too, white oak vanilla smell is even better IMO.
Sat and Sun ( both weekend 1:00 kickoffs was break times ) and then an hour or so every night till it just gets too dark to be working safely
I'm gonna let it rot. It already has stump rot - the middle of the bottom 4 or 5 feet is pretty darn soft. There's been a garden around it for about 30 years due to rocks and tree feet making lawn cutting difficult. Maybe put a half wine barrel or a toilet with some flowers in it on it. I might get ambitious and chop away it with an axe too but I doubt it.

A few years from now, on some bitter winter's day, all that hard work will just be a foggy memory as you warm yourself and your home with the heat all that oak is going to provide for you.:fire:
    Well done!:dex:

I might remember one or two by weight.

I should get an accurate scale and weigh a couple samples. :sherlock:
