Finished up my chainsaw storage/maintenance station this morning. I rearranged some storage and moved it to a better lit area of the basement. My grandfather built this upper too. Few extra shelves for storage of chains, files, wrenches, and other various goodies: Sharpening: Stay tuned for chain making pics!
Thanks! I don't have any yet. I should make up some wooden blocks for it before too long so I don't scuff up my bars too much.
I am going to send a picture of mine for contrast. Everything piled up cant find anything. Really though that is one cool bench.
Amen brother! Shawn's looks so tidy and organized. My bench (and entire shop) is a nightmare. Now, I will say that when I need something I can always find it very quickly, but if you looked around you wouldn't believe me...
Copper or aluminum angle would be OK too. split a short piece of 1" copper tubing & hammer it flat , bend around the jaws.
I am in the process of moving and stuff is piled everywhere. This is the new bench. I also have this secondary bench where I am going to mount another vice, my grinder and my breaker and spinner. It is covered with boxes of chains. The shelving unit to the right will be replaced with a metal one and be used for bulk chain, bars, starter rope and parts.
