image.jpeg image.jpeg I rented a chipper with a buddy and we split the time. The bandit chipper was a beast and we ran it over ten hours. Wish we could of gotten the work done over the winter and not when it was 85 degrees. Looks like it
will be an annual event to keep the tree of heaven and autumn olive at bay. My friends Dad is an avid mushroom hunter and [Aspotted a few morels in my front yard. I need to go check a few more spots for morels this afternoon with my girls.

Looks good but that 85 degrees does not sound too good.

btw, that chipper is made not too far from us and we constantly get telephone calls from people trying to call them as our phone numbers are similar and their font on their letterhead is weird and that is why people call our number thinking they are calling the right place...

I was really impressed with the Bandit chipper. It was built like a tank and could handle up to 9 inches. I have a video of the unit in action but I can't get it to upload.

Upload to YouTube (ya have to sign up for a YT account first, if u don't have one), then grab the link within your YouTube screen and select the little "film strip" looking icon in the same box as the smiley/picture/and flag looking icon box, and paste your link there, then hit "embed" and voilá!

If you have a problem getting it to youtube of photobucket, check the size of it. If not too big you could email it to me and I could do it for you. However, most videos are big. I don't remember what the limit is on email but think it is around 20meg so it has to be a short video to be that small.

Its been an amazing 'shroom season here. A co worker went out with a buddy last week and he said they found at least 15# of very large morels in just a couple hours. He said they had 4 Walmart bags full...like gotta double bag it to keep 'em from breaking full

Found about 4# of yellows today. All I have found the last couple weeks were the tiny greys. Wife is gonna be happy she prefers the yellows but I don't care what color they are I just eat em!
The monster blondes are just coming in also,,

Only one thing I can add to ^^^ is remember to click on "publish" button or it's private video rather than public.

    Found that out recently.

Wife doesn't care much for mushrooms, and I'm not knowledgeable enough to discern good from bad yet.

Aside from giant puffballs, gave some of them away last year.

    Blonds....

Yes, those are the ticket. I love it when the mushrooms are the size of 16oz soda bottles. I'll be looking this weekend. My buddy found a couple small Grey's yesterday.

In the above pic, last year I found 60 morels under those two dead elms just left of center. They are stone dead this year and I found zero under them.
    However.

See the big elm in front of the two dead ones? With the vine growing up it? It is just starting to die and it was a mother lode tree.
Found all these under it in about 10 minutes. A nice score for not much work.

    IMG_0541.jpg

We already ate about half of them for supper.
