Muffler Modding an Echo Backpack Blower

    I got a couple blowers from a member on AS that needed pistons and cylinders cleaned up,took some pics of what I did to the muffler. This is on a PB620ST.
    First step was to lay out my cut.

    Next I cut it open with a plasma cutter. There I found the major restriction inside.

    Once again plasma to get the cat out. Nice hole left behind.

    These two pics are welding back together. I petered out on the picture taking after that,but i groubd down my welds and put the deflector back on and you cant tell I was in there. Enjoy :)

    I been wanting to modd my echo string trimmer.

    After doing the MTD cheapo model I did a few weeks back and how satisfied I am with it I will make a point to do my trimmer now.

    If I had a blower id do it too!!!

    Usually works better to clean the pant off BEFORE trying to weld!

    I figured the paint got burned off from the plasma. Its not that loud. Id say its as loud as my Stihl BR320.
