Is there a standard location for Model and Serial number sticker on these machines? I would like to get a manual. Has anyone rebuilt the cylinder?
My splitter has an oil leak. I believe it maybe a rod seal. Without removing the cylinder, I can not see how the rod end comes apart. Don't really want to tear it apart, measure and then try to locate the parts. I would like to have parts on hand when I do the repair.

Right where I want to be.
If I remember correctly, mine's on the back side of the hyd. tank.

Yup. That is the standard location or on the tongue.

Usually the rod seal is changed without a lot of disassembly. There's typically a cap at the end that screws on

Found it on the back of the tank but it was in pretty bad shape. The partial numbers I pulled didn't relate to any manuals I found.
Yes it looks like it is the screw out type, but the cylinders that I have worked on, with screw out ends, had holes for a spanner wrench. This does not. We will see what happens.
Oil leak is getting a lot worse.
I have a problem with the wedge. There is a lot of side to side movement and the adjuster does nothing. Figure it had a piece of key stock in there to ride on the beam and it is probably missing. Weather is suppose to be good tomorrow and I will tear it apart. Maybe the side thrust is causing my oil leak problem. Get it fixed and maybe no more leak if I haven't destroyed the seal.
I was hoping to get through my stack of logs before going into maintenance mode. Not going to happen. No problem, I have all of 2017 season and 3/4 of 2018 done. Beside, the wife has other projects she thinks I should be doing. Her project aren't as fun though. Gotta keep them happy.

Just repaired the wedge. The leak isn't coming from the rod seal. It is coming from the fitting between the valve and the cylinder. I couldn't bust it loose. Got to get a cheater to put on it. I figure the fitting is cracked since it is unmercifully tight. The bad thing is that the fitting going into the cylinder is welded in.
