I'm looking to make a few mods to my new to me MS461 then maybe someday get some bananas added.

I've already got the factory dual port muffler cover. I've been advised to remove the cage from the muffler and replace the coil with a 460 coil.

I was tuning it today....or attempting to tune and could only get rpm up to around 13,200 roughly. I just richened it up until it burbled a little and it seemed good in the cut. I cut the limiter tabs off the carb adjust screws so we'll see if that helps any. The H screw was already done....the L not.

If I put a coil from a 460 on, do I have to do anything with the timing?

No. Put a 660 coil on it and your set

Tune it to 13800 on big wood to 14200 on smaller wood

It appears the 460 coil and 660 coil are one in the same. I ordered a used OEM 460 coil and should have it by the first of next week.
