Looking at a MS 361. Looks in brand new condition. Thought it was discontinued back in 2010?

    This a saw worth grabbing?

Great 60cc saw. I think you are right about when they were discontinued. I'd sure buy one for the right price.

    Price is up there $700
But this thing is mint. It’s been sitting unused since he bought it. 18” bar with not a scratch on it and 22” bar still in the wrapper. Plus four new chains.
Personally I find it hard to believe this thing runs but he says it runs great. Must’ve dumped the gas at least LOL
Haven’t seen it in person. Internet haggling. Seeems fixed on the price.

That looks very clean. I personally love my 361. I would let my wife repeat the gift of that saw knowing then what I know now.

Depending on your level of use. That saw could last a guy the rest of his life. :saw:

Yeah I bought it. It’s a clean saw alright. Probably not even broken in. Give the owner credit, his attention to detail is way beyond mine. Type of guy that takes the entire saw apart after every use and polishes all the parts LOL
Sticker under the muffler is still pristine. Fired right up.
Gonna be cold tomorrow morning but I think I’m going cutting ;)
Thanks for the opinions folks. I wasnt the only one interested I hear. Had to jump.

    Ports or parts ;)
One of these days I’d like to get a nice ported saw.
Older friend of mine use to race 2 stroke drag bikes back in the 70’s 80’s. He did some radical stuff to those engines. Wish I’d of paid more attention.

I understand and the addiction part. My last hobby was benchrest rifles. Eating Ramen noodles to feed my habit.

What kind of gains do you think you get from,,,let’s say,,,a woods port job? On the 361 for example.

I actually bought that 510 Dolmar without any investigating on the chance I might take a dremel to it. After I got it I found it’s not the best candidate and there’s a lot more to engine work than gouging larger holes LOL
