What all do I need to put 361 dual dogs and a roller chain catcher on my 261. I am finding conflicting information. I know the dogs are part number 1135 650 7750. I have read that the screws are not long enough that and I will need so longer, like M5x16mm. Is this correct? I have also read that the roller chain catcher is not long enough and I need to use one of an 880, Is this true?

Yeah the bolts that come with the kit are to short, need to go to the hardware store and buy longer M5 bolts, then trim off.

The roller catcher that comes with the kit will work. here is what I did, put 2 or 3 M5 flat washers on the stud (backside of the outer spike) then the pointy end will reach the inner spike. Make sense? There is still enough length on the stud with the washers in place for the nut to thread on.

See this pic (red arrow) the flat washers go behind the outer spike as a shim, this makes it long enough to reach the inner spike.

The ones on ebay are now $25 and a roller chain catcher is $10. The kit from Stihl was $42 so I went with it. I may get the Ebay specials for some other saws. Where do you get the scrench holders?

I know I'll buy a couple of these holders. One for me, and one for my buddy as a little gift.

I called about the scrench holder. They did not have it in stock. He said it was $1.50.

Maybe the price has gone up. I checked at two dealers and both were $42. I know the one dealer here is high. I was working on an 034 for a guy and needed a fuel line the one dealer was $15 and another was $10. The one dealer also always charges for shipping. Ironically they are cheap on chains, $1 an 1.''

Do you have a tach on each saw to satisfy curiosity?

Depends on whos curiosity needs satisfying ............:loco:

I suppose for some, they serve the exact same purpose as your CF graphics do
For others they provide an exact amount of run time
And for those that might feel left out, they help to tune in the cut

So I bought one of these thinking I'd put it on my 261. So is it even possible? And if it is, how do I get it on the handle? I took the handle completely off and I'm not seeing how it's possible.
