I just thought I'd share how we moved our Woodstock Fireview into our house in December 2011.

For years, we've needed to move large heavy filing cabinets full of charts in our office, and we learned 15 years ago the best option was the piano/organ dollies that our local equipment rental had in stock (still $13 per day for the pair, a great deal for the amount of labor saved.)

These are specifically the "ROLL-OR-KARI" dollies from Enrick Co., www.enrickco.com/

Using a pair of these dollies and the two straps, my son and I were able to load the Fireview into and out of my cargo trailer and into my house without difficulty or other assistance.

Anyone who moves wood stoves on a regular basis should give a pair of these a try. I know if I were to do so on a regular basis, I would invest in a pair of my own.

One of these can come in very handy too. This is how we moved our Fireview into the house. Strapped it on and then had to go up 3 steps plus the step up into the house. It worked out even better than expected. I think we paid $10 for this thing many years ago and have used it quite a bit.

    Thanks Dennis.

When the new Union/Steal hybrid comes in I have to bring it in and take out the Fireview. My younger brother is going to get into this wood heat insanity now too. He is buying my Fireview so I will be taking it 45 miles to his home for a basement install. Fortunately its only two steps down into his basement.

I left him two cords of a big old oak that fell at my dad's this summer to get him a head start on wood. He knows he needs seasoned wood to burn this winter though so we're working on that too.

Brian I can't help but wonder why you are calling this the "Steal" stove.. Can you shed some light on this? Steel makes sense and Steal makes no sense to me..

    Thanks,
    Ray

I'm still not sure that will be the final name. I hope not.

Looks like I might be moving my stove this fall yet. I'll check into that Brian. I used the standard dolly like sav to move it in. I'll let you know what I come up with.

That would be a horrible name, and it cheapens the brand, IMO.

All those would DESTROY my wide plank pine. I use a dolly with pneumatic tires.
