We moved about a 1/2 cord into the house today, i stacked it 2 deep there, second row is only 1/2 high. I figured I'd put up some of those pics as we all like to see. It was mentioned a while ago in my taxes thread about the wife helping with firewood. She does, she hates having her pic taken, explains the salute in the pics, but she ALWAYS helps as long as i let her know when i plan to work. She usually pics up pieces as i split and loads them on the lawn cart the drives them to the racks and stacks em up, also helps move them inside like here. My shed is on the driveway and we have a ground level basement, so the wagon takes it from the shed to the stove with no issues.... Enjoy

Looking good. How long you think that will last, a few weeks? Your a good canadate for a chute from the outside or do you just wheel it in?

Wheel it straight in, thats partly why i took up 1/2 my driveway for the shed.....

Timing depends on weather, last year that much was only lasting 2.5 weeks during that polar vortex crap. This year maybe a month -1.5? depends how cold it gets, so far been reallllly mild. Including this batch ive now move about 3/4 cord into the house.....

Always great to have a little help. Being able to wheel it from the wood shed to the basement is a plus.

Nice setup when you can wheel it right in and have so much right next to the stove.

Did you do anything special to allow the heat to move into the higher floor(s) in your house? I was thinking about a basement install as my half finished basement is rather chilly when the furnace never runs. Not sure how well all that extra heat would move through a single door way and up the stairwell to the above.

First, our house is 900 SF ranch with a sunroom( Total 1300 SF). I have two gravity registers cut into the floors. One is pretty close to the stove, the other is on the other side of the house. I find a good convection is created with just this. The vent near the stove is warm and the other is colder..... after that whoever did the sunroom addition left a window in the bathroom, there is also a laundry chute in the bath closet we loeave open. Soooo, i put afan in the window to blow air into the sunroom.... i never see more tha 2 deg difference from one side of the house to the other.

Yea buddy, gotta get those notoriously stiff Bridgestone warm before trying to spoon them on. Good catch by the way. I was wondering how long until I got that comment

bobdog2o02, where does the round duct above the oil tank go? Is that a fan inside of it that looks to be wired up?

Yea, it's kinda halfs assed at this point but it goes to the garage. Works pretty good sucking the hot stove room air into the garage. You know the adage, the carpenters own house is the last on the list.
