Thats what Ive heard. I havent had a chance to research this model too much but the first few hits I came across suggests I got a decent deal.

Mossberg 500 is a nice shotgun. Yours has a fancier stick than mine.

Modified choke barrel, takes 2.75 and 3" shells. Holds six of the short ones, I'm told.

What are you planing on shooting with it? Just target or will you be rabbit hunting and other critters?

My first shot gun was a 500 great memories . Many birds fell to a young hunter and that gun back in 1970 . Back then I walked into a Kmart store at the age of 15 with my adult next door neighbor and bought that gun . As a teenager it hung in a rack in the back window of my pickup ready to go find a few birds after school.

The birds are now all gone around here as are the farms. If I drove down the road with that gun in my back window I would be in jail with in minutes of leaving the house. So sad to see what we have allowed to happen to what was once the greatest FREE country.

Sorry about the rant just an old fool. Enjoy your new gun Grizzly I hope it brings you as much fun as the 500 gave me.

Nice looking Mossberg! I've got a 500 in 20 GA, I sold my 20 GA 870 to buy the Mossberg. Both are great guns, but being left handed that top mounted safety is a lot easier for me to quickly flick off. I really like the stock on the one you picked up, mines just plain and cheap looking.

Left handed too, and I'm a huge fan of the safety positioning.

The tang safety is what sold me mossberg over 25 years ago. I own 2 of them, a 500A and 500 8 shot 20" cylinder bore.

Need a tall gun safe, and then I'll be turning my eye from handguns to rifles. Shotguns and specifically Mossberg will be going in there. Most likely a 500 Rolling Thunder or a JIC. Eventually I want to add an AR-15 as well as some others.
