We got a message last night that there was more wood available about 20 minutes away. We left this morning before it got too hot and cut/loaded close to a cord before noon. Mostly locust with a bit of maple mixed in. They want to pay me to drop a tree and take the wood, so that’s a bonus.

We ran into some ground bees or hornets and left some behind. I don’t like messing with them. The trees were down for a year, so hopefully they dry out a bit faster. The ground was wet/soft and we almost got stuck.

Messing with mud is nasty but you did fine and got some good wood too.

Was it honey or black locust? Either way well worth the trip despite the issues you dealt with.

Pretty sure it is black locust. No spikes on it.

The weather is supposed to cool back down to normal tomorrow.
