We got a message last night that there was more wood available about 20 minutes away. We left this morning before it got too hot and cut/loaded close to a cord before noon. Mostly locust with a bit of maple mixed in. They want to pay me to drop a tree and take the wood, so that’s a bonus. We ran into some ground bees or hornets and left some behind. I don’t like messing with them. The trees were down for a year, so hopefully they dry out a bit faster. The ground was wet/soft and we almost got stuck.
Pretty sure it is black locust. No spikes on it. The weather is supposed to cool back down to normal tomorrow.
