    I waited till nightfall and sprayed them with 20 ft streams of death spray. Those who survived got ww2 on the second night. I am victorious......

    Not necessary. Late in fall the nest produces fertile queens which hibernate over winter. They start new nests in the spring. The old colony dies out completely. That's why there are relatively few early in the season, but by late summer they are everywhere. I always put out the yellowjacket traps in the spring to get as many of those fertile queens as possible before they hatch their first brood and disappear underground. Killing the workers later in the season is mostly just for the satisfaction.

    The bees always come back around us to the same darn spot so I have started gutting the nests completely. That strategy seems to work very well.
