The neighbor told me today that he has several oaks that are dead and he wants them cut down. He offered to haul them home for me too. All I have to do is drop em and cut to length for his dump truck. Doesn't get much easier than that.

Right? Plus it's oak, so splitting it feels like cheating too.

    I
hope he has a FEL to get those logs over the dump's sides.
    Been there, done that.
Also spent time inside the dump trying to get the logs un-criss-crossed to fit more in.

I'll get pictures, don't worry. He has a big tracked skid steer, so there is no trouble moving heavy things around here.

We got it done. I snapped this picture after getting the trees down. Two of them were pretty good size oaks (28" and 30+").
He has a 3500 dump truck and I got 5 loads. He has more trees to cut, but I need to get some wood cut/split/stacked before I can bring more home. I have a beaver dam in my yard now and no room for more wood. There is a wood chuck living under the logs too, but that's a subject for the hunting forums, lol. I'll just say I LOVE my 22-250.

I scrounged up a nice fridge and dishwasher for a friend and fixed his stove yesterday, so he said he would help me process my "beaver dam" of wood and help build my wood shed.
