I like Turmans because of heat out put but they seem to burn quicker for me than my Hammers.. I started to mix one bag of each in a large storeage container and I'm happier with the burn. Even when I mix my good pellets with cheaper pellets seem to be working out for me.. Might be something to try..

actually I have started mixing AWP and Starlites this past week for the same reasoning and have had good results.

Tried that when I had tons of Energex that were very ashy. For me, it didn't prove to be a worthwhile effort. Perhaps because my goals were different. In the end, I gave them to my son so I could clear out the space. He burned them in his Englander and was impressed with them. What I need is a stove that isn't fussy so I don't have to be particular about the brand.

I usually only mix if a pellet has an issue like long pellets or iffy brands that don't make much heat. With the Omega and its tolerance to high ash pellets. I don't need to mix for that reason any more. But thats probably the most common reason of mixing, Blending a high ash pellet with a low ash pellet helps get through the cruddy brands.

I think there could be several reasons for mixing/blending pellets. Some are just so we can play with our pellets! ;)
